The Power of Meditation
Here’s what will happen if you start the 20-minute challenge (20 minutes first thing each morning).
- Your focus, your awareness, will hone until you can watch the arising of every thought and impulse.
- You will naturally begin to eliminate the false and the negative, because you will see that they don’t help you.
- You’ll know your real, authentic being. You’ll feel free to live happily as your genuine self.
And this is why:
The point of meditation isn’t to stop thoughts forever. The point of meditation is to become like an air traffic controller, decider of which thoughts get to leave the runway for their final destination, and which ones you see early and send back to the hanger.
“No, no, no, no,” you say easily and amused, clearing the runway for the next good flight, the next useful thought.
Unhelpful and negative trains of thought are inevitable. They happen to everyone, even master meditators.
And bad trains always lead to bad destinations.
“Hey I should eat this whole bag of Doritos.”
“Ha…no,” you choose.
You become the seer…THE DECIDER.
During meditation, you move beyond your current patterns of thought, releasing your mind into a new realm of creativity.
The result is better than you can possibly imagine.
So many people are in a search for happiness, but happiness only comes from beneficial thoughts, words, and actions. And these all begin with intention.
Intention is what causes all effects in your life. Meditation helps you harness and direct your intention toward things that will actually benefit you and benefit humanity.
Meditation focuses the distracted mind…it puts you in THE ZONE.
You are able to think and speak more clearly, more calmly.
You shed old emotions, old beliefs, old patterns of thought. You start to see the connectedness of all beings, and you feel awe for the beauty of the whole mosaic.
You become more aligned toward your healthy goals, so you begin to study successful people.
You build an inner calm, and react less to the world. It also gives you enhanced willpower for several hours or days.
Every time you come out of meditation, you feel clear and active toward the next step…you just sink into breathing…and do it.
You get to feel the activities of your day with total presence, with maximal life enjoyment.
Meditation is relaxation and training for your mind. It is the gateway to becoming strong in psyche and spirit. It regulates depression and stress.
It will enhance your perceptive abilities, and give you space to take the right action.
Meditation will make you better at anything you choose.
Exercise your soul…
“What is the mind? Who is seeing these words? Do not mistake any state for Self-realization, but continue To ask yourself even more intensely, What is it that sees?” -Zen Koan
