The Power of Meditation

Here’s what will happen if you start the 20-minute challenge (20 minutes first thing each morning).

  1. Your focus, your awareness, will hone until you can watch the arising of every thought and impulse.
  2. You will naturally begin to eliminate the false and the negative, because you will see that they don’t help you.
  3. You’ll know your real, authentic being. You’ll feel free to live happily as your genuine self.

And this is why:

The point of meditation isn’t to stop thoughts forever.
The point of meditation is to become like an air traffic controller,
decider of which thoughts get to leave the runway for their final destination,
and which ones you see early and send back to the hanger.

How to Make a New Best Friend

  • Be yourself completely
  • Join them in their world
  • Open your world to them

I’m all alone now in a town where I know no one.

It’s 100 degrees out and there’s no way to escape it, so I decide to drive up the town’s tallest mountain to see the highest view.

Driving up the mountain road, I see ahead in the distance…a strange green streak carving fast down the mountain.

Closer comes the streak and I see it’s a young guy crouched low on a longboard, swerving with arms out for balance, green shirt fluttering, leaned into the wind…and this is how I met my new good buddy

How to Have Perfect Posture

Here’s a simple tip for perfect posture: Walk like you’re wearing a cape.

Really. Feel the weight of the cape pulling slightly back on the shoulders. Feel the superhero power and plant each step firmly.

Our posture reflects our inner state of being:

  • When you are sad…slouch
ed shoulders, chin down, steps hesitant.
  • When you are aligned…shoulders back, chin parallel to the ground, back straight, powerful steps.

Standing tall. You can also imagine there is a piece of string tied to the top of your head…pulling you up. Let it elongate your spine, your neck, your stomach, your thighs.

Let your abdominal muscles ENGAGE! Let your body twirl around this solid center core.

How to Get Over a Break-Up

First…I understand…

I know how it feels to love and be loved for exactly what you are…all your scars and all your brightness too. I know what it is to miss that and feel like there’s nothing left without it.

To lay awake at night and think maybe it would have played out different if this or that.

But you cannot go backwards in life.

There is only now and the future. That’s it.

Let it go. Let them go. Focus your energy on stuff you love doing.

Bravery - The Ultimate Superpower

Look at the little dude in that picture. He wants to jump from the mindset he’s in to a new reality.

He stands there thinking… -What if I can’t do it? -What if I slip as I leap? -What if I freeze at the last moment and topple over the edge into the abyss?

He is stuck in fear, because he is stuck in thoughts.

But fear is a misuse of the imagination - a blinding psychology, a distorted perspective.

To fear is to look at the worst possible outcomes of a scenario. Things that aren’t true can seem 100% true. In fear, we look at the obstacles instead of the GOAL.

8-Minute Tai-Chi

Tai Chi is powerful for honing your inner-energy (your chi). The movements are done slowly…relaxed but controlled.

Feel the circular-ness of all motion. Keep you legs and feet planted for a strongly rooted base.

Let an inhale or an exhale lead each motion. Let your focus fill every millimeter of your body.

Be in the motion of your fingers, unfolding slowly. Grip the ground with your feet.

Enjoy the feeling of making your movements buttery smooth.

This excellent 8-minute Tai-Chi routine will get your body buzzin:

Live in the 6th sense…the feeling of your tingling chi.

20-Minute Morning Meditation...Amazing

First thing when you wake up, set a timer for 20 minutes. Lay down, close your eyes and belly breathe.

Belly expands on the “in” breath, sinks in the “out” breath.

Allow feelings to come. Explore what they are or let them dissolve. Just keep focusing on nice full breaths.

If you do that meditation every morning, you will:

  1. Clear out your inner space from the past, giving you a fresh beginning for the future.
  2. Feel a richer sense of “who you are,” and what is good for you.

You will realize a new steadiness to your emotions, because you have already established a baseline of inner-peace. You can always pause, take a few big breaths, remember that clean space and return to it.

The Cold Shower Superpower

Here’s the big secret: Your fear lives below each breath - it is the tension in your chest.

Ready to decimate all fear and useless thought loops in an instant?

Want a surplus of bravery and a fresh hyper-awakeness for the rest of the day?

Deep controlled breathing vanquishes the fear below. Cold showers are an automatic superboost.

When you finish your warm shower…harness your determination, and crank the nozzle all the way to cold…

Right before you step into the cold, think (or even say aloud), “I can do this…I just breathe through it. I am strong!”

You let the cold pound the crown of your head, and the back of your neck, direct stimulation to the brain stem, and your nervous system roars awake.

The 5 Heavenly Virtues - Superpowers for Your Mind

Do you want to feel crystal clear again? To eliminate the murkiness in your being?

Everywhere we look in modern culture, we are being fed the 7 deadly sins.

Our music, movies, and cultural icons are drenched in sin. Just look at the titles of movies on netflix - many are synonyms for lust, vengeance, anger, greed, and pride. And the whole experience is marketed as binge-worthy (gluttony).

Sin is shown to us as something exciting and cool, but the definition of ‘sin’ is that it leads you astray…down a dead-end road of loneliness and regret.

Everything good starts with Virtue. Sin is emptiness of Virtue.

We know the ‘deadly sins’, but did you ever hear of the Heavenly Virtues?

The Real Riches in Life

When you look back upon your life…what has really mattered? What brought you REAL satisfaction?

Looking back…powerful, long-forgotten memories burst upon the mindscreen…

Sunrays splash on the faded dash, cruising along the river in a convoy of friends, seeking lush camp spots for the night.

The electric wet eyes of a deer in an ancient meadow under red sandglass sunset, rolling slow and solo on my first motorcycle, cold wind on my chest.

Walking in the autumn woods with a real true love, red leaves of midwest autumn crunching under our feet, laying on a plush blanket, laughing under tree canopy and the warmth of her soft shoulder.

The feeling of sliding on a cozy old fuzzy-hooded sweatshirt with little burn holes from a hundred campfires.
